NotVTT currently supports D&D as its game system, but many of its campaign-management tools are system-agnostic. Campaign organization, locations, story and lore, quests, journals, sessions, random tables, assets, maps, and notes work the same way no matter what tabletop RPG you run. D&D-specific features — character sheets, SRD content, spells, and monster mechanics — remain D&D-focused.
Running the same adventure for multiple groups?
Worldbuilder and Legend are particularly useful for Dungeon Masters who run the same adventure or world for several groups. Each campaign stays separate — its own session history, character states, quests, journals, visibility and progress — and campaign duplication lets you reuse a prepared campaign without merging groups into one.

Frequently asked questions
What happens if I use up a quota?
Existing content is never deleted. You can keep viewing, editing and using what you have. Reaching a quota will prevent creating additional content of that type until you free some capacity or upgrade your plan.
What happens if I downgrade?
Nothing is deleted. If your existing content exceeds the new plan's limits, you can keep using and editing it — you simply cannot add more content of a quota-controlled type while you remain over that quota. Delete unwanted content (including bulk deletion where available) to free capacity, or upgrade again.
What happens to my campaigns if I stop subscribing?
Your campaign data is not deleted when a subscription ends. Campaigns and their content remain available. If your account is over quota, existing content stays usable while the creation of additional quota-controlled content is eventually restricted until you are back within your plan's limits.
Can I have multiple DMs in a campaign?
Yes. A campaign has an owner and separate membership roles. The owner can invite other users as DMs, and remains the owner even if they choose to participate as a player. A DM collaborator does not become the owner simply by being a DM.
Can I run the same campaign for multiple groups?
Yes. Duplicate a campaign and use each copy for a different group. This keeps each group's progress, sessions, character states, journals, quests, visibility and campaign history separate. Shared assets are not physically duplicated. Worldbuilder and Legend are particularly suitable for running multiple substantial campaigns or groups.
Can players join multiple campaigns?
Yes. Players are not limited by a campaign owner's entity quotas simply because they join campaigns. A player can participate in as many campaigns as they are invited to.
What is the Demo Campaign?
Every user gets a permanent Demo Campaign — a small sandbox to learn NotVTT and experiment with its features. It does not consume a normal campaign slot, but its content counts toward your account-wide quotas. You can modify it freely, though the Demo Campaign itself cannot be deleted or transferred. It can be duplicated into a normal campaign.
Does the Demo Campaign count toward my limits?
The Demo Campaign does not count toward the campaign-count limit. Its characters, locations, items, quests, story threads, lore, random tables, and user-owned asset storage do count toward your normal account-wide quotas.
Can I delete content from the Demo Campaign?
Yes. The Demo Campaign itself is permanent, but its contents can be edited or deleted normally.
What happens to my assets when I reuse them in another campaign?
NotVTT shares the same physical asset between campaigns instead of uploading a copy. Reusing an asset does not duplicate its storage usage. The asset may appear as borrowed from another campaign or as an account-level asset.
Can I upload assets directly to my account?
Yes. Account-level assets are stored once and can be reused across campaigns without uploading the same file repeatedly.
Can I run NotVTT for free?
Yes. The Adventurer plan is free and is designed to be useful for a real small campaign, not merely a trial. It includes one normal campaign plus the permanent Demo Campaign.
Does NotVTT support RPG systems other than D&D?
NotVTT currently supports D&D as its game system. However, many of its campaign-management tools are system-agnostic — campaigns, locations, story and lore, quests, journals, sessions, random tables, assets, maps, and notes can be used regardless of the RPG system you run. Full system-specific support for other games (such as their rules, character sheets, or reference content) is not currently provided.
Are players limited?
No. Players are unlimited on every plan.
Are sessions limited?
No. Sessions are unlimited on every plan.
Are notes, journals, and history limited?
No. Notes, journal entries, and campaign history are not quota-limited.
